The IT Council under the Regional Council of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs in the Karaganda region has summed up the results of its work over the first nine months of 2024. Its main focus has been on developing startups through acceleration programs, supporting IT businesses, and improving city security through the Safe City project. Discussions have also taken place on attracting investors, updating the council's composition, and proposals for the upcoming NCE RK Atameken congress.
Meirzhan Zhumakhankov, Deputy Head of the State Institution "Department of Informationization, Public Service Provision and Archives of Karaganda Oblast", reported on over 100 events held within the "Territorial Valley" program, including 50 implemented start-ups and 169,000 violations identified through the use of 3,456 cameras and 172 traffic violations recording systems. Diana Salekhova, Head of Business Programs at Territorial Valley, presented a report on the work of the Business Angels Club, which has invested 16.5 million tenges in two IT projects and signed contracts worth 40 million tenge with graduates of the incubation program. She proposed expanding the program by holding hackathons and accelerating it. Director of Territorial Dolina, Sabir Niyazov, proposed updating the membership of the IT Council to include new participants, including representatives of educational institutions and business.
Oleg Streltsov raised issues of reforming the state IT procurement system, simplifying procedures, and providing real opportunities for students. The meeting ended with initiatives for developing the IT sector and supporting startups.
