Kazakhstani esportsmen will compete for 350 thousand tenge from ASCL.
The Astana Student Cyber League (ASCL), which is the stage of the eSports tournament, is starting in Astana on October 17-19. The event is designed to bring together students from capital universities and promote eSports among young people. This unique initiative goes beyond traditional student events and offers not only entertainment, but also opportunities for teamwork development, strategic thinking, and, of course, the development of eSports skills. ASCL will feature Dota 2 tournaments, one of the most popular and exciting disciplines in the eSports world. Dota 2 has been chosen due to its popularity among students and the complex game mechanics, which require deep analysis and contribute to the development of participants' analytical skills.
The first stage of the league will be qualifying tournaments within each of the eight leading universities in Astana. Pre-registered student teams will take part in these intra-university competitions. The format of the qualifying tournaments has not been announced yet, but it is likely to include a group stage and playoffs, which will determine the strongest and most balanced players. Based on the results of these intra-University competitions, one winning team will be selected from each university, totaling eight teams. These eight champions, representing the best of Astana students' eSports, will compete in a grand final LAN, consisting of several rounds.
The main event is a fight for an impressive prize fund of 350,000 tenge, which is serious motivation for participants. The winner receives 150,000 and an exclusive prize - an opportunity to design a unique team uniform with the help of professional designers. Second place gets 100k, and third place teams get 50k each.
The organizers of ASCL plan to hold not only exciting competitions, but also provide participants with additional development opportunities. They plan to feature master classes by professional Dota 2 players, as well as lectures on eSports management and marketing. Additionally, they will host meetings with representatives from leading eSports organizations in Kazakhstan, providing participants with valuable knowledge that can open new career opportunities in the industry. ASCL is not just a tournament, it's a platform for growth and development for future professionals in eSports. The organizers also plan to expand the event in the future, including other popular games such as League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and inviting students from other cities in Kazakhstan to join.
