The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan will host the IV Interregional Uzbek-Kazakh Business Forum on October 21 in Samarkand. The goal of the event is to strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations, establish direct contact between entrepreneurs from both countries, and intensify cooperation in various economic sectors, such as agriculture, industry, services, and construction. Issues related to mutual investment will also be discussed. Currently, Kazakhstan is one of Uzbekistan's three largest trading partners.
Between January and August 2023, trade between the two countries totaled $2.6 billion, a 7.6% increase over the same period in the previous year.
Further development of bilateral projects will increase the number and volume of foreign trade transactions between states. The forthcoming forum will certainly contribute to the expansion of economic cooperation between Astana and Tashkent.
